For years, the focus has been on power hot classes, vigorous vinyasa, and other strenuous forms of physical practice. Much of it does not align with Yogic philosophy and as more and more teachers gain deeper knowledge of that and greater understanding of the nervous system, we are starting to see a shift. That shifts does not mean that studios are no longer offering strenuous classes, but it does mean that advanced teachers recognize that if we want to provide spaces for healing, there must be balance.
Restorative practices are the key to a studio's and a teacher's success.
While it may not mean that you start to take a more restorative approach, it does mean that you will have a greater understanding as to how to weave that into the current way that you teach or the current culture of your studio.
